Jemima is a figurative painter and muralist from Leeds, where she is based. Her work focuses on portraits and figures that explore human character and emotion, using oil in the studio and masonry paint when outside, and thick layered brushwork to add texture and depth to her figures. Her practice balances traditional painting with modern techniques and a DIY approach, often experimenting with collage and found materials and mixing her colours as she goes when working outside.
She has exhibited work locally and in London and has completed large scale mural projects in Leeds and Bradford.
